What lubricant do I use for a squeaking mask?

My mask squeaks at the plastic swivel connection where the hose connects to the mask.

What type of lubricant should I use to eliminate this?

Answer

You can use different solutions, such as:

  • Take the mask apart and wash it....My Quattro squeeks occasionally and a washing fixes the problem for a couple of months. Never use antibacterial soap as it will break down the silicone of the mask. You can use Citrus II CPAP Mask Wipes

  • Or wrap the parts of CPAP mask with teflon plumbers tape

  • Or use silicone grease, such as Haynes, which is a synthetic food-grade grease. Silicone grease is commonly used as a lubricant with breathing apparatus.
