Masks for a beard

Is there a special mask for men with a beard?
I have a haircut once a week to keep it trim but it does not always help.
Is there a certain way, I should fit the mask to let it do it's job?
Answer
There is no special designed CPAP mask for
patients with a beard, but you can definitely find something that works.
However, your mask for the beard depends on the type of mask you need to have an effective CPAP therapy.
Many CPAP users believe that a
nasal pillow mask is the best choice for persons with a beard.
The ResMed Swift FX nasal pillows is a very common choice in CPAP users with beard.
If you need a full face mask, then you have to keep your beard trimmed short, but in the most cases the beard may have to go. The ResMed Quattro FX could be your first choice for a test.
For a CPAP nasal mask, the Mirage Activa LT has very good seal with the beard compared to other masks. But keep in mind that for a nasal mask, the mustache is the main cause for a potential leak, and not your beard.
If you use a nasal mask,
keep your cushion clean (if the mask gets oily, it will leak easier).
Good luck!
I hope it helps. Don't be afraid to comment back.
